This course is for candidates who intend on teaching BOTH Healthcare Providers and Lay Persons. The pertinent information for the Basic Life Support(BLS) + Heartsaver®(HS) Instructor Essentials course is below.

The following are disciplines you will be certified to instruct after successful completion of this Basic Life Support (BLS) + Heartsaver® (HS) Instructor Essentials course:

  • BLS Provider (instructor-led and blended online courses)
  • Heartsaver® CPR (instructor-led and blended online courses)
  • First Aide (instructor-led and blended online courses)
  • Bloodborne Pathogens

Prerequisites

Please see the following details which outline the prerequisites, materials required and costs for the AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) + Heartsaver® (HS) Instructor Essentials course.

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must align with an AHA Training Center – We are an approved AHA Training Site and all candidates may align with our AHA Training Center.
  • (Prerequisite) Must complete American Heart Association BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course – click to purchase –required prior to your class date.
  • Must have BLS INSTRUCTOR MANUAL – click to purchase – must bring to class
  • Be successfully monitored within 6 months after completing the Instructor course.
    • We offer one monitoring session at our location included in the Instructor Essentials Course within 30 days of completing the course. Any additional monitoring needed or requested after 30 days are billed at $100 each.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) + Heartsaver® Instructor Essentials course includes the following materials:

  • BLS Provider Certification (required)
  • Heartsaver® Provider Certification (required)
  • First Aide Provider Certification (required)
  • Instructor monitoring by an AHA Instructor within 90 days of class completion (required)

Before your class date:

You will need to take The BLS INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIALS ONLINE COURSE & purchase the INSTRUCTOR MANUAL on American Heart Association’s website. IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CLASS TUITION and is required prior to your first day of class.

The BLS Instructor Essential online course is approximately 2 hours and is to be completed prior to your class date. We will email you instructions on how to purchase the online course on American Heart Association’s website upon enrollment into our BLS Instructor Course.

The Instructor Manual is needed to take the BLS Essentials Online Course and comes in eBook format as well as Hard-copy format. The eBook can be downloaded immediately upon purchase and the Hard-copy takes up to 2-5 days to be shipped to your address. You only need 1 version. Both versions can be purchased directly on American Heart Association’s website here.
